Coconut Beach Hat

My connection with Kati Reijonnen in Finland has given us a lasting friendship, as we studied together in Aberdeen. This image of a hat I created in 2001 shows how inspired I was by this new friendship. The hat was inspired by the stories of her home at the time in Vanuatu

The University of Cumbria NETS show

The Exhibition at Lancaster Alexandra Gallery was excellent and very well received. This show curated by Angie Wyman is very diverse, and has the UoC stamp of individuality on it. It fell to me to say a few words and what amazed me the most was how brilliantly the process had been explained by the artists, not only through the PowerPoints, but also through the lively animation of needleweaving by Stella Adams-Schofield. It was a really absorbing and will be well received wherever it travels, I am sure.
